From the A171 between Guisborough and Whitby turn off at Lockwood Beck for Castleton. Continue into Castleton and turn right up the high street. At the top of the village take the second right before the cattle grid. Travel 200 metres past the gravelled area and over the brow of the hill, bear left at the post box signposted Westerdaleside and continue over the cattle grid for approximately 1.5 miles. From the A170 between Helmsley and Pickering turn off east of Kirkbymoorside for Hutton le Hole and Castleton. Follow the road past the Lion Inn at Blakey Ridge and past Ralph Cross for 1.7 miles and bear left at the unmarked junction. The site is 0.5 miles down the hill.
