The environmental theme is central to the conditions applied, primarily by the North York Moors National Parks. Retaining the appearance of the field as part of the farm is also significant, so the graves are marked with a 300mm square stone tile laid flat. No trees are allowed on the site, but appropriate planting can take place on the farm. The farm livestock will continue to graze over the area, so flowers are not permitted because of the possibility of poisoning the animals or internal damage from wires.
A service may take place on site or prior to the burial.
